Brazil Summit

Brazil enters 2026 at a defining moment. Global markets are recalibrating amid shifting trade dynamics, technological disruption, and rising protectionism. Yet Brazil’s diversified economy and global relevance as a supplier of energy, food and critical raw materials position it strongly for renewed growth, even as domestic fiscal pressures and global uncertainty weigh on the outlook. With borrowing costs still elevated and debt dynamics in sharper focus, investors are increasingly testing the durability of Brazil’s fiscal framework and the credibility of medium-term consolidation.
As a result, investment opportunities are opening up in the country’s artificial intelligence, minerals and digital infrastructure sectors, while its longstanding strengths in agribusiness and clean energy continue to attract international capital. However, fiscal constraints, high interest rates and more complex trade relations with the United States and China present obstacles. At the same time, renewed tariff escalation risk could reshape global flows, commodity demand and supply-chain strategies into 2026. Policy choices in Brazil over the next year will therefore be crucial in determining whether promise can be turned into performance.

Against this backdrop, the Financial Times presents the fifth edition of the Brazil Summit, which returns to New York on May 13, 2026. By convening senior policymakers, business leaders, and global investors, the Summit will explore the economic, political and strategic forces shaping Latin America’s largest economy — and what they mean for global growth, competitiveness, and investment.
